Annual Arts Festival Underway in Prince Albert

Approximately 800 northern school students are in Prince Albert this week for a major arts fair.

The annual event is hosted by the Prince Albert Grand Council and includes competitions in dancing, singing, speech-making and other disciplines.

Teacher Debra Hartwell of the Keewatin Elementary School in Red Earth says the event is a special time for her students as they eagerly anticipate showcasing their talents.

Elementary-aged students finish competing today, while the bigger kids start tomorrow.

Closing ceremonies take place Thursday night.
