The lawyer for a man accused of six counts of sexual assault on the Mistawasis reserve says her client intends to plead guilty.
However, Val Harvey was unable to proceed Friday with the case, as she is still waiting for other charges against her client to arrive from Manitoba.
Devon Shane Brandon, 26, was arrested in April 2008, after RCMP issued a warrant for his arrest.
They allege he sexually assaulted some children under the age of 14 on the reserve.
He was also wanted on other matters in both Ontario and Manitoba, but Harvey says she is still waiting for some of those charges to be transferred here.
She asked the judge to set the matter over to Jan. 14, 2010, noting Brandon was in agreement with the suggestion.
The judge agreed to the request and put Brandon back on remand until then.
