A woman from the Ahtahkakoop First Nation has received a conditional sentence for her role in a death on the reserve.

The body of 53-year-old Wallace Little was discovered by RCMP officers in a home on the reserve in February of last year.

42-year-old Linda Peekeekoot eventually pleaded guilty to manslaughter and took part in a sentencing circle in late April.

Peekeekoot will serve a conditional sentence of two years less a day, in addition to two years of probation.

She is also banned from owning a firearm for 10 years, and must submit a sample of her DNA to the authorities.
