There is a new pharmacy in Regina — and it’s Aboriginal-owned.

The Winnipeg Street Pharmacy — under the PharmaChoice banner — is owned and operated by Namerind Housing.

Namerind provides affordable housing to more than 240 Aboriginal families in Regina.

“We think of ourselves as social entrepreneurs, or a social enterprise. That’s what we believe. I mean, our goal, our mission is still to provide affordable housing, but we have many other things that we want to be involved in,” says Namerind CEO Robert Byers.

All profits from the pharmacy will be re-invested into Namerind’s affordable housing.
