The Lac La Ronge Indian Band is getting money to help its members have better access to housing loans.

The money will come through the First Nations Market Housing Fund’s Credit Enhancement program.

It gives First Nations better access to housing loans on-reserve and on settlement lands.

Deborah Taylor, with the First Nations Market Housing Fund, says the fund ensures that First Nations people will have the same access to housing as other Canadians.

The $300-million fund is expected to help First Nations get money for 25,000 new homes over the next 10 years.
