A 20-year-old Prince Albert man has entered a “not guilty” plea in connection to the killing of a former member of the Big River First Nation.

Curtis Black appeared in provincial court this morning to answer to a single charge of manslaughter.

On April 30th, the body of 48-year-old Calvin Smallboy was discovered in a Prince Albert residence.

The police have not yet commented on what caused Smallboy’s death other than to say they believe it was foul play.

Black’s next court appearance is set for June 17th.
