Accused in Violent Crimes Remain in Custody

The suspects in two separate violent crimes in Northern Saskatchewan over the weekend have made their initial court appearances.

 

A 16-year-old male youth is facing 3 charges of aggravated assault following a string of stabbings on a reserve in La Ronge early Saturday morning.

 

The conditions of the 3 victims in the stabbing spree is not known.

 

The youth has been remanded in custody until his next court appearance in La Ronge on January 12th.

 

Meantime, the 20-year-old man accused in a violent home invasion in Cumberland House has also made an appearance in court.

 

Larry Pelly is facing numerous charges, including assault.

 

Two people were sent to hospital following the weekend attack, but have since been released.

 

Pelly is scheduled to make his next court appearance in Cumberland House on January 29th. He, too, has been remanded in custody.
