Absenteeism Delays Submission of Report

One of the co-chairs of the Northwest Regional Development Council says absenteeism is plaguing the group at the worst possible time.

The board is made up of 14 businesspeople representing communities on the North’s west side.

It was formed over 3 years ago to provide direction to the provincial government related to economic development.

Co-chair Isidore Campbell says the council recently completed its long-awaited report for the government about opportunities and priorities in northwest Saskatchewan.

Campbell says the board has to give its final approval of the report before its submitted.

However, he says two recently-called meetings designed for that purpose have been called off because of a lack of participants.

Campbell says this is the first time the council has had a problem with absenteeism.

He plans to try again on October 8th in Buffalo Narrows.
