A Metis student from Beauval is among the winners in this year’s list of Canada Millennium Scholarship Foundation award recipients.
Jordan Mihalicz is getting $4,000 to help pay for university or college tuition.
Mihalicz will be attending the University of Saskatchewan in the fall.
He admits to being surprised by the news he had won, because the competition for the scholarships was national in scope.
Mihalicz and Larissa Favel of the Poundmaker Cree Nation were among nine Aboriginal students chosen across Canada.
They were selected for their leadership skills, community involvement, academic achievement and interest in innovation.
