Aboriginal City Councillor Named Top Citizen

A North Battleford Aboriginal man has been named the Battlefords and District Citizen of the Year.

Ray Fox will officially receive that honour during a banquet in North Battleford January 30th.

Fox has been involved in a long list of community groups, ranging from the United Way to the Chamber of Commerce.

He is also a city councillor.

In 2006, he was named the FSIN’s Citizen of the Year.

Fox sees this latest honour as proof that the non-Native community in the Battlefords is reaching out to the Aboriginal community.
