A Chitek Lake band member has been hired to help west coast people who are afflicted with AIDS.

Ken Thomas used to call Saskatchewan home, but now works on the west coast.

He and one other person have been chosen to staff the new Vancouver office of the Canadian Aboriginal AIDS Network.

The organization assists Aboriginal people in dealing with the disease and the stigma that often goes along with it.
