A northern Saskatchewan health region is adjusting its H1N1 immunization clinic schedule because of the turnout it has received so far.

Over 800 people took advantage of the Mamawetan Churchill River Health Region’s first mass clinic in Air Ronge on Wednesday.

Public health officials say they’re pleased with the public’s response, and they’re now entertaining the hope that they’ll be able to wind down their mass clinics by the middle of next week.

All residents of Northern Saskatchewan have been identified as high priority, meaning residents who wouldn’t qualify to get the vaccine if they were living in southern centres also have access to it.

The health region also says the unadjuvanted vaccine for pregnant women under 20 weeks is now available in the La Ronge area.
