2006 Northern Census Packages On Their Way

The manager of the 2006 Saskatchewan Census says not everyone in the north has likely received their forms yet.

However, Larry Deiters says residents should get them soon, as door-to-door canvas teams are ready to start visiting homes.

Deiters says he knows some northerners may have trouble filling them out if their first language isn’t English.

He says interpreters will be made available and they won’t penalize people who try to fill out the form but make mistakes.

He reminds residents that the date they have to remember is May 16th.

So if a baby was born in the household on May 17th, it shouldn’t be counted this time around. Only the number of people actually living in the home on the 16th should be tabulated.
