A man is in custody following two stabbing incidents on the Little Red River reserve over the weekend.

26-year-old Jackie Dale McKenzie is a resident of the reserve and has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault.

The RCMP says McKenzie was apprehended without incident yesterday at a reserve residence.

He was scheduled to make a court appearance this morning.

Both victims are from the Sturgeon Lake First Nation.

The RCMP says they were taken to hospital and treated for non-life threatening stab wounds.

The Mounties say the stabbings took place at around the same time Saturday afternoon.

One of the victims was apparently stabbed while in a car, the other man was stabbed just outside the vehicle.
