The three hunters who went missing near La Loche have been found safe and sound.

Freddie Fontaine, Ernest Montgrand and Tobie Montgrand were located by a helicopter and a local ground team today. Apparently, the searchers honed in on an area where a signal fire had been spotted by a search aircraft last night.

The three men, who range in age from 43 to 61 years of age, are all reported to be in good condition.

The party was reported missing yesterday after not returning from a trip they made to LLoyd Lake the previous day.

It turns out they were stranded after experiencing mechanical difficulties with the boat they were using on the Clearwater River southeast of Lloyd Lake.

The RCMP wishes to thanks all of the volunteers involved in the search effort.
