Saskatchewan Environment’s second annual Aboriginal summer youth camp got underway yesterday in South Bay.

Camp Coordinator Brian Morin says Environment officials want northern youth to realize that there is a lot more to the department than just enforcement.

Morin says another goal of the camp is to recruit more Aboriginal students into resource management positions.

He says the week-long camp will have presenters from all areas within Saskatchewan Environment, and will feature a lot of hands-on participation for the kids.

Morin notes that 3 elders will also be in attendance to explain to the youth their involvement with resource management.

The camp, which is for youth in grades 11 and 12, will wrap up August 18th.
