A healing circle and candlelight vigil will be just a few of this weekend’s activities planned for a rally in Prince Albert’s Kinseman Park.
The demonstration is being put on to protest the recent sentencing of a Tisdale-area man convicted of sexually assaulting a twelve year-old Cree girl.
Rally organizer Marlene Frigon explains visitors will be allowed to pitch their tents and stay overnight in the park, as well a number of teepees will be set up on site as well.
She says the lack of jai-time given to a convicted sexual-offender is something that needs to be addressed.
The rally begins Friday afternoon at five o’clock and wraps up the following day at six. Frigon says another part of the demonstration is to call attention to the Saskatchewan Legal System, and the changes that need to be made to it.
