A candlelight vigil will be held in Prince Albert this evening to call attention to a recent court decision in Melfort.
Twenty-six year-old Dean Edmondson was sentenced to two years less-a-day of house arrest for the sexual assault of a twelve year-old Cree girl.
That ruling has generated a lot of anger throughout the area and also sparked fierce debate about the importance of protecting children’s rights.
As a result the Coalition for Judicial Reform has organized a twenty-five hour camp-in that will take
place at Kinseman park beginning at five o’clock today. Everyone is welcome.
