Owners of Fishing Camp Recovering From Fire

Sunday’s early morning fire at the Northern Escape Lodge in Hunter Bay on Lac La Ronge could have been a lot worse.

Camp owner Clint Anderson credits the heroic efforts of the surrounding camps and cabin owners with keeping the fire contained until fire suppression aircraft arrived on the scene.

Camp guide Alex Charles received some burns from the fire and was flown to La Ronge for treatment, but was back to work the very same day.

Anderson is still waiting for an insurance adjustor to figure out how much it will cost to replace what was lost in the fire.

The camp owners are expecting their first guests since the fire tomorrow and say things will be business as usual.
