Northern Municipal Elections Underway

The first round of municipal elections in Northern Saskatchewan takes place today.

Elections in northern municipalities are spread out over the next several weeks, with most of the larger centres going to the polls in late October.

Pinehouse and Cole Bay are the largest communities with elections today.

In addition, four northern settlements have municipal elections today — Black Point, Garson Lake, Brabant Lake and Southend.

Eight more northern municipalities have elections scheduled for next Wednesday, including Green Lake and St. George’s Hill.
