A new child care centre is set to open in Cumberland House.

The centre will provide spaces for up to 21 children from qualifying families in the community.

The program, funded by the provincial government, is part of the largest expansion to child care in the province’s history.

Across the province, the government is spending 1.8 million dollars this year to create 500 new child care spaces.

Community Resources Minister Glenn Hagel says the program in Cumberland House will help ensure quality, affordable child care for families in the community that are going to school or work.
