LLRIB Looking to Strengthen On-Reserve Crime Watch

A member of the Lac La Ronge Indian Band is asking fellow band members to help him lower crime rates on-reserve.
Roger Ratt volunteers some of his time patrolling the reserves for Crime Watch, a program set-up to aid the police in their crime prevention efforts.
Ratt is outfitted with a direct line to the RCMP, which he says enables him to give the police the “heads up” to any suspicious activity.
Ratt believes this is a great way for people to help not only their neighbours, but the community as a whole.
Ratt hopes others will see the benefit and sign up to volunteer.
Application forms for volunteers can be picked up at the RCMP’s on-reserve office in La Ronge.
