La Loche Youth Pay Tribute to Slain Teenager

Young people in La Loche have erected a makeshift memorial in front of the bar where a local youth was killed earlier this week.

Teddy bears, flowers and signs with anti-violence messages have been placed there.

As well, the owner of the bar has decided to keep the establishment closed for the weekend out of sympathy for the victim’s family.

17-year-old Vincent Lemaigre died from injuries he received in a fight outside the bar early Wednesday morning.

20-year-old Donny Lemaigre faces a charge of second degree murder. He made a court appearance in La Loche yesterday and will be back in court on September 25th.

Wake services for the victim began last night. His funeral is scheduled to take place on Monday at 2pm.
