The La Loche RCMP is asking for the public’s help in the investigation of the sudden death of a 17-year-old boy overnight.

The youth was fatally injured in an altercation in front of the L.A. Sports Bar sometime between midnight and 12:30.

He was rushed to hospital, where he died of his injuries.

Police have not made any arrests at this time, and RCMP Corporal Brian Jones says it would be helpful if potential witnesses to last night’s incident would come forward with some information.

Jones says it appears there were several witnesses to the incident, and says even the smallest detail could be a big help to investigators.

The RCMP’s major crimes unit out of Saskatoon and a forensics team from North Battleford are assisting in the investigation.
