Cumberland MLA Keith Goulet says his gut feeling is that the premier will call an election this fall.

Lorne Calvert can wait until next year to call an election, but has hinted voters could head to the polls later this year.

Goulet says it’s likely a provincial election will happen sometime around late October or early November.

Even though he won’t be running in the next election, Goulet says he and fellow northern MLA Buckley Belanger will likely be treating the summer as an election campaign.

Goulet is predicting a narrow win for the NDP whenever the vote is held.
