Dillon Murder Suspect Denied Bail

A Dillon man accused of murder has had his application to be released on bail denied.

Larry R. Billette is charged with second degree murder following the death of 36-year-old Joan Campbell in Dillon this summer.

Her body was discovered in an outdoor public area in the community in the early morning hours of July 23rd.

The 34-year-old Billette appeared in Battleford Court of Queens Bench Friday applying for his release until his preliminary hearing, which is scheduled for March of next year in Buffalo Narrows.

The judge at the hearing denied Billette’s application for release and at the same time imposed a publication ban on details from Friday’s proceedings.
