Dillon Man Killed in Rollover Near Big River

A 25-year-old man from Dillon is dead following a single vehicle rollover near Big River over the weekend.

The accident happened around midnight Saturday evening 32 kilometres northwest of Big River.

The RCMP says the victim and 2 other occupants of a pickup truck were not wearing seatbelts and were thrown from the vehicle when it rolled.

The other 2 occupants were taken to hospital. The extent of their injuries isn’t known.

The Mounties say alcohol and speed are believed to have been factors in this accident.

The name of the victim won’t be released until next of kin have been notified.

The accident is still under investigation.
