Jackie Dale McKenzie appeared in Prince Albert provincial court this morning.

The 26-year-old resident of the Little Red River reserve is charged with two counts of aggravated assault after two people from the Sturgeon Lake First Nation suffered stab wounds over the weekend.

Defense lawyers for McKenzie will ask the judge to consider placing him on an electronic monitoring program until his preliminary hearing begins.

His next court appearance is set for July 17th.
