Over one hundred demonstrators marched through downtown Prince Albert today to protest the “not guilty” verdict of two white men accused of sexually assaulting a young Cree girl.

The case was decided in Melfort, but protests are taking place throughout the province by residents upset with the legal decision.

Marlene Frigon helped organize the Prince Albert rally. She says it’s clear that people who can afford high-priced lawyers can get away with anything.

Frigon says she plans to get a petition together to further protest the court ruling.

She also hopes one day there will be a complete overhaul of the justice system.
