The Prince Albert woman accused of beating her toddler son last year has been released on bail until her next court appearance.

21-year-old Trudy Charles was in court last week for her preliminary hearing, which has been adjourned until June 16th.

The judge in the case is trying to decide whether Charles should stand trial on a charge of aggravated assault.

The 20-month-old toddler was left in a coma after the beating, and will not fully recover from his injuries.

The beating came after the child was released from foster care.  The incident has prompted a review of the Montreal Lake Indian Child and Family Services Agency.
