The father of a missing 27 year-old man is asking for help in the search for his son.

Justin Kishayinew went missing in Saskatoon earlier this year.

He left his home on the 100 block of Avenue O South on February 10th and has not been seen since.

Two searches were planned for Justin over the next couple weekends, but his Father says those searches have been cancelled because of a lack of funding.

“It all boils down to finances, financially we just can’t do anything,” says Justin’s father Harvey Abbott.

Abbott says they did have plans to have people familiar with search and rescue help out, but had no money to provide for these efforts,

He says there is a GoFundMe page to help with the search for Justin, but to this point at has only raised $300.

Other searches for Justin have taken place in the past, but Justin’s father says he has lost out on wages in these searches and without additional funding he cannot afford to continue the searches.

He says him and his wife have been struggling with closure.

“Justin didn’t drink, he didn’t smoke, he didn’t do drugs. He lived a clean life. He wasn’t involved in gangs. It’s been really hard, every time we get sightings or people said they saw him, it gives us hope, but then it’s hard coming back to the reality that it wasn’t him,” says Abbott.

He says his son did struggle living in Saskatoon and always talked about coming back to his traditional roots.

Justin’s last known communication was a Facebook profile picture, which he posted at 7:30am on the day he disappeared.

A campaign to help in the search for Justin can be found at GoFundMe.com.
