Our Format

MBC, Saskatchewan's Aboriginal Radio Voice, plays a wide variety of music for our vast listening audience. Our music entertains a wide range of individuals with a mix of Aboriginal, new country, traditional country, rock & roll, popular top 40 and dance music.  This truly is a format you will not hear from any other radio station.

MBC is an all format radio station, playing the songs of today and yesterday every day, seven days a week…

 

Monday's at 6 pm, MBC is proud to present the Saskatchewan Aboriginal Countdown with Dwayne Animikwan. Listen for today's most popular songs by Saskatchewan Aboriginal artists. This program repeats Sunday evenings at 11:00 p.m.

 

For the youth, the MBC Haul Home plays a blend of upbeat country, rock, pop and top 40 weekdays 4 til 6 pm. Also, in support of the Missinipi Youth Foundation (MYF), MBC offers its House Party Friday night (or technically early Saturday morning) from Midnight til 3:00 am with a variety of dance, hip-hop, R&B and hard rock tunes.

 

Aboriginal Music is played every day at anytime on Saskatchewan's Aboriginal Radio Network. Past and present Aboriginal tunes are a very popular and essential component of MBC's programming. Our Aboriginal music includes new country, traditional, fiddle, rock/pop and hip hop categories. MBC is "First For First Peoples Music!"

 

Each Thursday evening at 6:00 p.m., the five chart topping Canadian country music hits are served up with Dale Roth.  Each Friday afternoon, MBC also features the high 5 at 5; the latest & best in rock/pop music.

 

Friday evening beginning at 10pm, MBC's James Young hosts Missinipi Friday Night. This 2 hour program is devoted to upbeat country with a mix of rock/pop favourties to kick start your weekend. James will also give you the latest movie rentals and a comprehensive run-down of the weekend's upcoming community events.

 

Saturday mornings 6:00 til 10:00 a.m listen for the Old TimeCountry Music Morning as the clock is turned back to yesteryear. 

 

The 70's and 80's get the spotlight on "Way-back Wednesday" each Wednesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

 

Yesterday's country classics mixed with a few gospel favourites and programming devoted to please our Elders are the focus each Sunday morning with Cree Language hosts Harry Opikokew and Abel Charles.  The Sunday morning Elder's program airs every Sunday between 9:00 and 11:00 a.m.
