Dwayne Animikwan (sound it out if you get it right then you must be Ojibway) is from the Wikwemikong Unceded Indian Reserve (Wiky) on the largest freshwater island in the whole entire world, Manitoulin Island, Ontario. He has a son who is sometimes seen frequenting the halls of MBC and is a loving husband to his wife with whom he has been with for 9 years.
Since graduating high school back in '97 from LaSalle Secondary School in Sudbury, Ontario; Dwayne has worked so many jobs that if he were to list them all you would probably stop reading. But to name a few, carpenter, roofer, dynamite blasting assistant (yes it was as cool as it sounds he says), youth worker, newspaper publisher/editor and most recently graphic designer. Ok that’s enough.
He attended Western Academy of Broadcasting in Saskatoon under the tutelage of Sir Don Scott, a program that has seen its fair share of superstars. He was interviewed for the evening announcer job at MBC with the brass. The rest is history. He can now be heard from Sunday to Thursday 6pm to midnight, talking about something and playing awesome tunes for the people, across the greatest province in the Country.
Ok, this was written by me. It’s hard to sum up your life in a couple of paragraphs! If you can...then you must be 10 years old. Wait a minute...
