MBC Network Radio has an exciting opportunity for an On Air Host/ Promotions Coordinator! This is a full time position with benefits (100% company-paid). The individual will host a live show in addition to running our promotional department under the supervision of our operation's manager. MBC is Saskatchewan’s Aboriginal FM radio network and is heard in 65 communities, including Saskatoon, Regina, Prince Albert, North Battleford, Yorkton and Meadow Lake. We are also online, all the time, at www.mbcradio.com. Lac La Ronge and area is growing in North-central Saskatchewan, located only 2 hours from Prince Albert and 3 and a half hours from Saskatoon. We need someone with a positive approach to their career who can host an upbeat show and interact with our audience, both online and on the phones. We need someone who can create fun and entertaining contests that appeal to a province-wide audience. If this sounds interesting to you, apply now!


Responsibilities:

• Host an entertaining and informative live, daily on-air show.
• Daily Facebook, Twitter, website and other social networking activities.
• Creating and implementing fun on air contests inclusive of prize acquisitions and promotional planning.
• Voice-track shifts and audio production as required.
• Host remote broadcasts and station events when necessary.
• Provide shift relief when required.

Qualifications:

• Broadcast training from a reputable college or institution.
• Previous on-air experience is a must.
• Knowledge of ENCO DAD would be considered an asset.
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to reason.
• Must have drive and passion for broadcasting and working with clients and the public.
• Must be creative, imaginative and innovative.
• Able to work under pressure while maintaining composure and completing work within deadlines.
• Self-motivated and able to take direction.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Description:

Missinipi Broadcasting Corporation La Ronge has an exciting part time opportunity for you to join our on-air team. We're looking for a capable, hard working individual with aspirations of being a great radio broadcaster. You'll get to be on air across Saskatchewan and create entertaining audio segments for Saskatchewan’s Aboriginal Radio Network. La Ronge is the capital of northern Saskatchewan and is located on the shores of Lac La Ronge in the midst of the northern boreal forest. Send a resume, cover letter and demo of your work.

Duties:

Host and produce a radio program within station format.
Love to interact with your listeners through social media
Knowledge of northern and Aboriginal events as they relate to the station audience.
Responsible for operating and producing your own show.
Required to voice track shifts as necessary.
Ability to prepare, produce and perform an entertaining program.
Perform commercial narration and edit audio on PC for production purposes.
Adhere to music and commercial logs as scheduled.
Provide vacation relief.

Qualifications:

Professionally trained radio broadcaster or minimum of 6 months on air experience in radio.
Excellent on-air and production skills.
Team player in all situations.
Ability to work independently.
Superior organizational and interpersonal skills.
Ability to communicate effectively on the phone.
Computer literacy is mandatory.
Familiarity with Scott Studios, KLZ Newsroom and Adobe Audition is an asset.
Valid driver’s license, clean driver’s abstract and reliable vehicle is a must.
